Your Pharmacy’s Online Footprint

If your pharmacy does not have a strong online presence—or an online presence at all—now is the time to change that. A recent article for Pharmacy Today explains why this is so important and how pharmacies can bolster their presence online.

People spend a lot of time online. A lack of online presence can have a big impact on a pharmacy’s bottom line, especially over time. Researchers who analyzed the web presence of 100 independent pharmacies discovered that less than one third had a good, functioning website. They also found that the vast majority of independent pharmacies are doing a poor job of utilizing social media.

Luckily, there are a variety of resources available for creating a good website and/or expanding your independent pharmacy’s online presence. The article suggests Weebly, Google sites, and Wix, to start.

As far as content goes, the article recommends that, at minimum, your website should include your location, hours, and phone number. You should also consider including a photo of your business, images of your staff, and information about the services you provide. Additionally, be sure to include links to your social media accounts on your website.
